Mars will be seen during epic close encounter with Earth this week
Astronomers say we will be able to see mars throughout early August. Rumour has it that, it could appear as big as the moon, which is clearly a load of tosh. ‘If that were true, we’d be in big trouble given the gravitational pulls on Earth, Mars, and our Moon,’ Nasa said.
A massive dust storm recently engulfed Mars, obscuring surface details normally visible through telescopes.
The Advantage of martian dust is that it reflects sunlight, which will make it shine brighter than usual, according to Widener University astronomer Harry Augensen.
This means the mars will be visible to the naked eye.
Just look out for the big red dot in the night sky.
In 2003, Mars and Earth were at their closest in nearly 60,000 years, coming within 34.6 million miles of each other. This won’t happen again until 2287, Nasa has predicted.
Marvelous changes in our galaxies isn't it.
